The Boundaries of Love

"Swirling clouds of dust and garbage enveloped Osama Zatar and Jasmin Avissar as they stood near the Qalandiyah checkpoint, outside Jerusalem, and smiled for the camera. There wasn't much happiness in their smiles, though - mostly sadness, the sadness of parting. On Sunday of this week, as they gazed at the massive concrete separation wall, their lawyer, Michael Sfard, filed a petition to the Supreme Court requesting that the State of Israel permit Jasmin Avissar to join her husband in Ramallah and thus make it possible for her to live by his side for the first time since they were married two years ago."

From Haaretz: a heartbreaking story about two sane people in a crazy country.
